This is Sean.
He's Head Chef at The Queen's College, Oxford.
Outside of work, life doesn't exactly slow down. Between family life, two rugby playing teenage boys, cycling, jiu-jitsu and everything else that fills the week, there's rarely much time set aside just for him.
When Sean turned 45, he found himself thinking about the next chapter of life.
Nothing was really ‘wrong’. He simply wanted to feel healthier, sharper and more present than he had been.
At the start of 2026, Sean decided this was his era.
And instead of looking for one big change, he started building better habits.
Here's his experience, in his own words.
Deciding It Was Time
Sean had already begun improving his lifestyle before Mind Lab Pro® arrived.
He was paying more attention to his sleep, drinking more water, exercising more consistently and generally trying to look after himself.
“I turned 45 this year and wanted to feel better and simply enjoy life a little more.
I wanted a healthier change in my lifestyle."
Working in a busy kitchen can be very stressful. Constantly juggling priorities, making decisions and staying one step ahead.
Away from work, family life was just as full.
"I was looking for something that would help with the noise in my head, and quieten it down a little. Life is very busy, as it is for everyone. We've got two teenage boys playing rugby, lots of sports clubs, jiu-jitsu and everything else that comes with family life."
For Sean, it was all about finding a little more headspace amongst the everyday noise.
The First Few Weeks
Sean kept a diary during those first few weeks. What’s interesting is that he doesn’t describe one dramatic moment where everything suddenly changed.
In fact it was almost the opposite.
"For the first few weeks, it simply became part of my routine."
Looking back, he thinks that mattered.
"I think there was something beneficial about creating that routine in itself, alongside whatever the supplement was doing."
Then after those initial first weeks, he noticed something.
"It suddenly seemed a little clearer and a little less noisy."
It was gradual, natural, and exactly the way he hoped it would be.
Building Momentum
Over the following months, Sean found those small changes continuing to build.
"My focus, energy and efficiency have continued to improve over time. It doesn't feel sudden—it just gradually builds, which I really like."
He describes it as a natural process rather than a quick fix.
"It feels like a very natural way of regaining focus and increasing what you're able to get done."
As the months passed, Mind Lab Pro® became less about trying something new and more about supporting the routine he was already building.
"I genuinely feel there's a noticeable difference.
I feel more energised, I have better concentration, there's less noise in my head."
Learning to Stay Present
One of the biggest changes Sean made this year was taking up jiu-jitsu.
"It's fantastic. I'm addicted."
He laughs before explaining why it became such a good test of his concentration.
"You completely have to be in the moment and focus whilst doing it, otherwise your arm's up your back or someone's trying to pull your head off!"
He describes it as "like playing chess mentally."
Every movement demands attention. Every decision has consequences.
"I've found Mind Lab Pro® massively helps with the focus."
For Sean, it became another example of something he probably wouldn't have started a year earlier. It felt like there had been a positive shift in mindset.
And one that didn’t go unnoticed by those closest to him...
"You've Got Your Spark Back."
In terms of cold hard proof. Nobody will tell you the truth as ruthlessly as your partner.
And that was certainly true for Sean.
"My wife says I have a spark back."
He smiles when he talks about it, "It felt good, but I also knew it in myself that I had set up good routines and lifestyle changes to feel better in myself."
"It's always nice when it's noticed, especially by loved ones."
That sums up Sean's story remarkably well.
He decided he wanted to feel better, and then he backed that decision up with action.
He improved his sleep, paid more attention to his nutrition, started cycling, took up jiu-jitsu and gradually built habits that supported the person he wanted to become.
Today, Mind Lab Pro® sits alongside those healthier habits.
Together, they've helped him feel more focused, more energetic and, perhaps most importantly, more like himself again.

Lab Notes: Why Routines Matter
One sentence from Sean stayed with us.
"It's not just pop a pill and bang—it's changed. It feels a much more holistic approach."
That's an important point.
Real change rarely comes from one decision.
It's usually the result of small habits that reinforce one another over time.
For Sean, Mind Lab Pro® became part of a broader routine that included improving his sleep, hydration, exercise and nutrition.
The formulation reflects that same philosophy.
Rather than relying on high levels of stimulants, Mind Lab Pro® combines 11 research-backed nootropic ingredients chosen to support different, but interconnected aspects of cognitive function.
Sean's description of "calm focus" and "less noise" is particularly interesting.
L-theanine, an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves, has been studied for its ability to promote relaxed alertness by increasing alpha brain wave activity—a pattern associated with feeling calm but mentally engaged.
Alongside this, Citicoline (Cognizin®) supports healthy brain cell membranes and contributes to the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in attention, learning and memory.
No single ingredient explains Sean's experience. Nor would we expect it to.
Instead, his story reflects something many people discover for themselves: when better habits begin working together, the benefits often feel greater than the sum of their parts.
